Do colleges really care about the future of its graduates?

One criteria for caring is spending significant amounts of time studying the workplaces graduates desire to enter after graduation so they get right how to exactly prepare graduates for success. It is also exposing them to multiples of career perspectives in the form of mentors from multiple contexts. This is the least it would take for them to really care.
