The beyond recipes dinner party metaphor

Today I wrapped up an Agile Canvas Strategic Doing process with a wonderful group in Monterrey Mexico. We concluded with a Beyond Recipes dinner that celebrates the essential and metaphorical principles of the Agile Canvas.

Based on my most recent book by that title, people bring a couple of unprepared ingredients and we explore together multiple varieties of interesting combinations for improvised dishes. The group brought a typically unremarkable array of ingredients and produced amazing and beautiful dishes. Every dish was brought about by agile and self-directed collaborations. With no plans, leadership or adjustments in resources, people use what they have, engage their talents, share responsibility and do amazing things. That's the power of the process.
