The power of being non-reactive

The neurosciences continue to indicate that the more reactive we are, the less access we have to the intuitive and creative parts of our brain. Being reactive heightens negative stress that makes us more mindless than mindful. It saps our energy and diminishes our resilience.

The optimal antidote to being reactive is being mindful. My preferred approach to mindfulness is simply noticing what's different in each fresh moment from the last. This creates a clear and calm mind that makes us immediately more intuitive and creative. We literally see possibilities, questions and resources that we literally cannot see when we are reactive.

The utility of mindfulness is that we can practice it anywhere, in any situation.
